Can You Freeze Kringle? How to Store Kringle

Can you freeze Kringle? Yes! Kringle freezes very well, making it easy to save part of one for later or order several of your favorite flavors at once.

For the best flavor and texture, we recommend enjoying frozen Kringle within six months. It may remain frozen longer, but its quality can gradually decline over time.

Here is everything you need to know about keeping your Uncle Mike’s Kringle fresh.

How Long Does Kringle Stay Fresh?

Kringle can be kept on the counter at room temperature for approximately three to five days. Keep it covered or inside its original packaging to help maintain its freshness.

If you do not expect to finish it within that time, we recommend freezing it.

How to Freeze Kringle

If your Kringle was shipped and the shrink wrap is still intact, you can place it directly in the freezer. The sealed shrink wrap helps protect it from air and freezer burn.

If the shrink wrap has been opened—or if you plan to store the Kringle for an extended period—wrap it tightly in plastic wrap, such as Saran Wrap, before freezing it. For additional protection, you can place the wrapped Kringle inside a freezer bag or airtight container.

To freeze Kringle:

  1. Leave the shipping shrink wrap intact or wrap the Kringle tightly in Saran Wrap.
  2. Place it in a freezer bag or airtight container for additional protection, if desired.
  3. Label it with the date it was frozen.
  4. Enjoy it within six months for the best flavor and texture.

Can You Freeze Individual Pieces of Kringle?

Yes. You can freeze an entire Kringle or cut it into individual portions before freezing.

If you freeze individual pieces, wrap each one tightly in plastic wrap and place the wrapped pieces inside a freezer bag or airtight container. This makes it easy to thaw only what you want while keeping the rest frozen.

Since one whole Kringle serves approximately 16 people, freezing individual portions can be especially convenient for smaller households.

How Do You Thaw Frozen Kringle?

When you are ready to enjoy your Kringle, remove it from the freezer and let it thaw at room temperature while it is still wrapped. Keeping it covered while it thaws helps prevent it from drying out.

Once thawed, unwrap it, slice it and enjoy.

Kringle is delicious served at room temperature. If you prefer it warm, you can gently warm an individual piece before serving.

Does Kringle Need to Be Refrigerated?

Kringle does not need to be refrigerated for ordinary short-term storage. It can remain covered on the counter for approximately three to five days.

For longer storage, we recommend freezing it instead. Properly wrapping and freezing Kringle helps protect its flavor and texture until you are ready to enjoy it.

How Long Can You Freeze Kringle?

For the best quality, we recommend enjoying frozen Kringle within six months.

Freezing does not stop quality changes forever, so keeping it tightly sealed is important. Air exposure can lead to freezer burn and affect both the flavor and texture. Leaving the original shrink wrap intact or adding a tight layer of Saran Wrap provides extra protection during longer freezer storage.
